The sole objective of the Worlds Biggest Walk Foundation is to raise community awareness for organ donation and transplantation on a global scale.  
The WBWF will raise awareness by synchronizing community walks at the same Greenwich meantime on the last weekend in October annually, with 2008 being the inaugural event.

Sophie Morell

Sophie Morell is an unassuming businesswoman with a difference. At the age of 17 she was awarded Victorian Young Business Person of the Year, and has since gone on to play a pivotal role in the development of Australian produce in the Middle East. Sophie was the only woman in this industry and prior to being diagnosed with Leukaemia she was instrumental in developing and setting industry standards and procedures. It is this legacy that has allowed Sophie to re-enter the Middle Eastern market 4 years later after a life saving bone marrow transplant. She remains highly regarded by industry colleagues, Government and the market movers & shakers.  Her wealth of experience and knowledge is quite astounding combined with her optimism and charm. 

Based in Melbourne, today Sophie is a professional speaker and project manager in the non-profit sector. She has been successful at representing Victoria and Australia in swimming and rowing at the Australian and World Transplant Games. It has been though this experience that Sophie has been able to drive the vision of the Worlds Biggest Walk into a global community changing event.


Gareth Pollard

With a successful career in the pharmaceutical industry, Gareth has for the second time in his life, taken a gamble in pursuit of his dreams. After being diagnosed with Henoch Schonlein Syndrome at the age of 15, life revolved around dialysis 3 times a week for the next 3 years until a suitable donor was located. During this time Gareth continued to play cricket for his beloved Belvedere Cricket Club and attend school, all the while having to travel over an hour each way after school for dialysis.  
After a successful kidney transplant Gareth has been able to Captain the first Great Britain Transplant Cricket Team, on the inaugural tour to Australia in 2004. He has also represented Great Britain in squash and swimming. Now located in Melbourne, Australia Gareth is currently training and studying at university to become a Paramedic.


Anthony Sill

Originally from Melbourne, Anthony is currently the Vice President - Legal, Asia Pacific and Japan for a multinational Software company, currently based in Sydney, Australia. A passionate cyclist, Anthony has been known to travel to France to follow the Tour de France on his bike. Anthony has experienced the life changing benefits of organ donation, which stems from his close friendship with beneficiaries of transplants.


Elizabeth Hosford

Based in Essex, England, Elizabeth has been at the forefront of developing transplant support networks while also being a dedicated wife and mother. A talented musician, Liz is a Professor at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, she also teaches the piano and has an LGSM Diploma. Liz has been a member of the British Transplant Team since 1993 and has travelled the world competing for her country. Representing the United Kingdom and participating at transplant games, is so important to Liz that she scheduled her wedding and the birth of her girls around the World Transplant Games, so that she could compete. Liz’s passion for this sector is educating people about organ donation and signing up on the National Register, which she encourages by giving talks and showcases. She is currently a Trustee of Transplant Sport UK (formerly Transplant Sports Association of Great Britain) and TSN (Transplant Support Network).


Pete Woollard

Pete has been coaching athletes for 24 years ranging in age from 4 to 40 in a variety of sports in the school system and at club level and was recently appointed Australian Transplant Junior Team Manager. Always up for a challenge, Pete armed with his humour and positive attitude for life, undertook the utmost challenge of all by coaching transplant recipient to achieve their dream of becoming a world champion.

Attending both national and international transplant events since 2004, Pete has since become a regular feature in the transplant community, all the while spreading his infectious chuckle and his pursuit of enjoying the small things in life.
